Quizlet - This is a vocabulary building site that uses flashcards, games and other activties to help improve the memory. Easy to make lists, use pre-made ones by others and modify, or import. Has prime features too. One of those allows you to put in pictures.

Memrise - This is a vocabulary building site that circles the words so you refresh the vocabulary or terms that are in your term bank.

Word Scrambler - Does just what it says...if you would like to create a scrambled words activity, this will scramble the words for you. There are other puzzle formats located here.

Classtools - You can make arcade style games with vocabulary and other questions and such.

PowerMyLearning - This is not a game site, but it was COOL! It is a collection of resources for different subject areas. You can specify the age group you want and narrow your search in other ways too. It is awesome!!

Brain Pop - It is a great list of a variety of subject areas and types of games.

Blogging:

http://piittmann.blogspot.com/ is my new blog for reflection.

http://huhsalted.edublogs.org/ is my new blog that I will be using next year for the GEDO2 program.

Cool Cat Teacher http://www.coolcatteacher.com/ is a technology and teaching blog. She includes all sorts of educational topics. I found things on app smashing and also something about giving yourself time off (a sabatical) in the summer to allow yourself to rejuvenate.

Lisa Nielsen of The Innovative Educator http://theinnovativeeducator.blogspot.com/ hosts a technology and teaching blog. The blogger is Lisa Nielsen and she was a bored, discontent. She wants to change the educational landscape, so she infuses tons of technology!

She has tons of practical things on there from using cell phones in class to keeping in contact with parents. I was just looking for things like that the other day and then I found her blog! It fit perfectly!

Blogging About the Web 2.0 Connected Classroom http://blog.web20classroom.org/ is a technology and teaching blog. The articles are long and thoughfully written. The gentleman that hosts the blogs, Steven Anderson, is also someone I follow on Twitter. He worked from the nuts and bolts side before he became an application guy. I really enjoy his positive attitude and practical tips on how to infuse the technology and think about the real stuff.

Other interesting websites for Teachers:

One page that I found interesting ideas on was this one from Edutopia I had never heard of Xtranormal before; it seemed like Voki, but a video format and not just the voice/head.

Internet4classrooms also has a listing of ways to incorporate technology in lessons. (ISTE was linked on there, but there aren't any lesson plans on the ISTE site.)

I looked for French related topics on Teach-nology. There seemed to be some great ideas using the internet and java applets. There are many other subject areas and even a WebQuest page that has pre-made WebQuests and a WebQuest maker. It seemed useful.

LessonPlansPage has lots of different lesson plans, but they don't all include technology.

Edutopia has some lessons on this page that can make you think about how to integrate technology. Some included internet searches, wiki pages, rubric makers, SKYPE, etc. I found these very interesting.

This ASCD article was an interesting read about ways to use different technology-mostly on hand-held or mobile devices. Twitter, Aurasma, Edmodo, Notability, etc. are discussed and more too.

Web 2.0:

ProProfs Quiz Maker (http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/create-a-quiz.php) is a Chrome app. I chose this one because I have been looking for quite a while to find an online secure Quiz taking feature that is flexible for my Moodle course. I think this one has what I am looking for in a program. There are various templates you can use, pre-fab questions set up for different things--personality quizzes and all kinds of funny stuff--and a place where you can create your own quiz that is scored for you. There is a free version for educators, but there are limited features in that version. I think I will use this to provide quizzes in an online course environment, but I think it would be easy to use this with a link on a blog, wiki, or whatever else.

Zaption (http://www.zaption.com/) is a program that you can use to make videos interactive. You choose a video and put it in the program. You can stop the video at any point and insert questions which will pop up when the students watch it. You can see their answers under the analytics tab by downloading them and the students can rate the video. There are lots of options and I really like it so far. I think educators use videos a lot and this allows the students to interact and process the video as they go through it instead of zoning out during the video and then wondering what they just saw at the end.
